Preschool Learning Modules - In addition to the Foundation Blocks for Early Learning, the Department of Education created one-hour instruction modules to assist program providers with improving access, equity and impact of early learning programs. These resources cover the following topics: Teaching Math Through Games, Supporting Social Problem Solving (SPS), Encouraging Children’s Early Writing, Promoting Friendship Skills, and Supporting Self-Regulation through Games.
Practicing Inclusivity - According to recent studies, programs that include participation from children with and without disabilities serve to support the cognitive and social-emotional skills of both groups. To assist early education providers in designing and sustaining opportunities to include children with disabilities, the Department created the Virginia Guidelines for Early Childhood Inclusion resource.
